Approach to Validation
CooperSwann began working with the young visionary, Jameson Broadbent, owner of JB Racks in 2022. JB Racks was finding their innovative vertical bike racks becoming more popular, and the company wanted to ensure that their customers were getting the best product possible. The first round was to develop FEA protocols, physical lab-tests and in-situ testing that could validate the claims for the products use.
The initial product was run through FEA, tested to over 2kN loadings in-lab and CooperSwann Engineering ran field tests of the rack. The field testing involved a 5km off-road stretch and continually ramping up the loads on the rack until failure, video monitoring and analysis.
Next, the Revolution!
Never one to sit idle, Jameson approached CooperSwann Engineering to assist in developing a new bike-rack concept. A product not yet seen on the international stage.
After visits to manufacturers, many client discussions and variations of design the JB Racks Revolution was released to market in September 2024.
The Revolution is a modular racking system, ensuring ease of transport, minimised freight and manufacturing costs. Integrated with JB Racks innovative linear actuator system and years of dedication to making the best possible product, at the lowest costs the Revolution is the pinnacle of vertical racks on the market.
